As you can see in this graphic, we estimate that the ZIP codes with the lowest median income often used less than 2 vouchers per 100 children. On the other end of the spectrum, the wealthiest ZIP codes used more than 10 (and even 20!) vouchers per 100 children.

A sense of connectedness, where students feel supported by adults and peers, is crucial for lifelong success. But 48% of Latino high schoolers in the U.S. reported not feeling close to people at their school. Work to address this must start early in a student’s life. Last week we met with #AffliatesUnidos, advocates and partners at Arizona State University to discuss: ➡️ the importance of social connection/belonging for mental health, from early childhood through adolescence ➡️ current best practices to support Latino students and families ➡️ our combined advocacy to develop and expand culturally relevant mental health services and its workforce Together, we can help schools across the country more effectively support student mental health.
