🌟 October is Filipino American History Month! 🌟 This month marks the incredible legacy of Filipino Americans, commemorating their first recorded presence in the U.S. on October 18, 1597, at Morro Bay, California. As the third-largest Asian American group, Filipino Americans have left an indelible mark on our nation’s history, culture, and communities. Recognized by Congress in 2009, this celebration is a time to honor their contributions and cultural heritage! Let’s uplift and celebrate together!

On Friday, September 20th, we gathered to celebrate an extraordinary milestone of one of our partners— UMOM New Day Centers' 60th anniversary! The theme of this year’s gala, "Shine Bright," beautifully symbolized the resilience, strength, and inner worth of the families UMOM serves every day. We’re especially proud that Kim Covington, Arizona Community Foundation's VP of Strategic Partnerships, emceed the event, bringing her passion for our community to this memorable night. ACF has been a long-time supporter of UMOM's mission to help families experiencing homelessness rediscover their value and rebuild their lives. For six decades, UMOM has provided not just shelter, but hope and transformation for so many. Congratulations, UMOM, on this incredible journey and your legacy of making a difference!
