On Wednesday, May 29th, Allmand hosted members of the Holdrege American Legion and the Nebraska National Guard for its 4th Annual Memorial Day Flag Raising Ceremony. The ceremony included Allmand's David Dooley and Roy Fanning speaking to the employees about Memorial Day and the American Flag, and thanking the veterans for their service. The National Guard walked the new American and POW-MIA flags to select Allmand veterans to raise the flags. The sound of Reveille played as the flags rose. To commemorate the event Allmand handed out shirts to all employees, and recognized its 23 veterans as they adorned gold shirts. Allmand, shining light on those who sacrificed all.
