Alton Aviation Consultancy has published its 2024 – 2034 Commercial Aircraft Fleet Forecast, providing in-depth insight into the trends driving fleet growth and market dynamics over the next decade. With an expected increase from 31,000 to 41,000 aircraft in operation by 2034, Alton estimates a shift in the curation of the global fleet. Narrowbody aircraft are predicted to make up 69%, increasing the share by 9% over the decade. In contrast, regional aircraft will experience a drop from 11% in 2024 to 7% of the global fleet in 2034.
