Today, Bernalillo County leaders announced the launch of an automated speed enforcement program, installing nearly a dozen speed cameras. The program, managed by vendor Altumint, follows a Feb. 2023 ordinance passed by county commissioners. Learn more:

We're excited to see the positive impact of our school zone speed cameras, now installed at Eustis High School and the Eustis High School Curtright Campus. These cameras are a vital step in ensuring the safety of students. The early success at Eustis Elementary School, where over 1,300 citations were issued, shows just how crucial this technology is. Tanisha Piper, a parent at Eustis Elementary, supports the initiative: "It's completely necessary. There are a lot of kids that walk to school every day."
