The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.
About us
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Our Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter was one of seven founding chapters of the National Alzheimer's Association, headquartered in Chicago. It was started by family caregivers who came together around a common need of getting support and help for their loved ones with dementia. Since 1979, our donor-supported, nonprofit Alzheimer’s Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes. Our Mission To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Our Vision A world without Alzheimer's disease.®

After losing her mom to Alzheimer's just over a year ago, Michelle Farnsworth of Bismarck is sharing her story to #ENDALZ, asking everyone to support our MN-ND Chapter for Giving Hearts Day. 💜❤️ You can help us provide dementia resources to families, like Michelle's, by giving any amount now through Feb. 13, 2025 at https://lnkd.in/gfryn7B. Our MN-ND Chapter is a trusted resource for thousands of North Dakota and Minnesota families who are facing Alzheimer's and other dementias. As a nonprofit, we rely on donations to support our education classes, support groups, 24/7 Helpline, advocacy, care consultations, and to advance critical research. #GivingHeartsDay

Thanks to Inside Senior Living and PBS North for including us at their National Premiere Party last night! I attended with my colleagues Jenna Fink and Karen Soares from the Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter. Our speakers are featured in the fourth episode. Kudos to Melissa Hannah Fritz for creating this thoughtful series highlighting the stories of Minnesota families and individuals as they connect to resources, manage transitions and age in place.

Thanks to Michelle Farnsworth in Bismarck for sharing her mother's story on KFYR-TV. “She was the most giving human being that I’ve ever known. And I was just blessed that she was my mother,” said Farnsworth. Her mom, Donna Hardt, was a news photographer who passed away with Alzheimer's just over a year ago.
