Our Mission: Providing cost-effective care and assistance that gives people the freedom to remain in their homes.
About us
Ambercare provides home health, hospice, and personal care services to the New Mexico area and is a member of the Addus family of companies. For over 40 years, Addus HomeCare has been one of the nation’s top providers of personal home care and support services and is committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective care that gives people the freedom to remain in their homes. Ambercare was founded by Michael and Mary Merrell in 1994, in the small town of Belen, New Mexico. The Merrells were keenly aware that high-quality, compassionate care for the homebound was not available at the time in their community. Mary, a registered nurse, watched as friends and neighbors suffered needlessly due to the lack of adequate care. Michael and Mary knew they could not ignore this, and Ambercare was born. The spirit of providing others in need with nothing less than we would expect for our own families is still the guiding principle that directs every Ambercare professional.

Today we commemorate the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their hard-fought freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a celebration of freedom, justice, and equality —fundamental human rights that belong to all. #freedom #juneteenth #remember #galveston

June 13-19 is National Nurses Assistants Week. Nurses Assistants play a critical role in our nation's healthcare structure. By providing direct care and assisting patients with activities of daily living, they are the eyes and ears of our organization and often the first ones to see a chance in a patients condition that can save lives. We want to acknowledge and thank our CNAs for the incredible work they do each and every day! #nursesassistantsweek #healthcare #service #integrity
