For First Officer Nicholas (Nic) Ramirez, flying was always more than a dream — it was a family legacy. Inspired by his father, Capt. Esty Ramirez, a former Air Force pilot, Nic’s passion for aviation took flight early. Esty became one of Nic’s flight instructors, guiding him from student to First Officer at American Airlines, where they now fly together — father as Captain and Crew Chief, son as First Officer. This year marks a milestone: Esty celebrates 25 years with American, while Nic begins his first. With countless journeys ahead, their shared dream continues to soar.

We’re celebrating 40 years of supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through our annual Celebrity Ski event! Throughout the years, the event has transformed into a special tradition, offering team members the chance to give back and live out our purpose of taking care of people on life’s journey. Team members like First Officer Nathan Green and Flight Attendant Julie Molano volunteer their time year after year to support the cause. Over the years, American has raised more than $47 million to help fight CF. Here’s to continuing the tradition and making a lasting impact! 💙
