We're raising our minimum wage to $25 an hour, beginning in 2025. "As a customer-driven organization, it’s critical to invest in our employees who provide the exceptional service our customers deserve and expect," says Chief People Officer Jessie Stauffacher. "By providing competitive wages we recognize the importance of keeping and attracting top talent while also empowering employees to develop successful careers here." The $25 per hour minimum-wage increase will impact American Family Insurance employees in a variety of roles, including customer-facing positions in call centers, claims and other areas. Further strengthening investments in its employees, in 2025 we're increasing time off for parental paid leave. Birthing mothers will now receive 16 weeks of paid leave, and parental leave will increase from four to eight weeks for all parents, including adoptive and foster parents.

We partnered with Bird Collision Corps to address the problem of birds flying into windows at our National Headquarters in Madison, Wis. After several seasons surveying the property, American Family Insurance piloted a solution using dot pattern window clings, which are shown to reduce collisions. The dots were applied in areas determined to have the highest volume of bird strikes. During a six-week survey this spring, these dots reduced bird strikes to zero. We are now working on new ways to implement this solution to limit total bird strikes and protect the various species across our campus.

Today is National Intern Day, and we are proud of these exceptional students who are spending their summer with us – learning about our industry, gaining valuable insights into our business, and bringing their ideas and energy to our entire organization. From day one, interns are key members of our team. They’re deeply connected to impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. We’re grateful for their contributions and look forward to following their successes as they learn and grow in their chosen career fields. #NationalInternDay | https://lnkd.in/g_ag9zPf

DreamDrive returns to Green Bay Packers training camp! This fun tradition with Packers players provides a specially designed bike experience for Packers fans and families at training camp, centered on the storied training camp tradition of Packers players ride children’s bikes to and from practice. "This is a place where dreams are born, where dreams are championed, where dreams are achieved," says Rich Steffen, American Family Insurance president of personal lines. "We love this team, fans and community … and are proud to be part of it." Children are encouraged to participate in DreamDrive throughout Training Camp’s open practices over the next several weeks by bringing their own bikes to practice. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3LzAKOk

The Road Home Program provides re-entry training to justice-impacted individuals who live in the Waterloo, Iowa area. This cohort is reviewing credit reports to help prepare them to become first-time homeowners. Some of its graduates also work at All In Grocers, the first grocery store in the city's Walnut neighborhood in nearly 50 years. American Family Insurance supports both projects. #ClosingEquityGaps

We 💚 innovation. Built into our values, innovation helps us set the pace in a changing world, while finding new and better ways to serve our customers. In 2023, Fast Company recognized American Family in its Best Workplaces for Innovators Top 100 – the only insurance category winner on that list. Ryann Foelker, design and innovation director, is leading the way when it comes to innovation. She recently earned the RISE Professionals Innovator of the Year award for her contributions to American Family and the insurance industry. 🙌 Congrats, Ryann!
