Nkanyiso the cheetah has faced extraordinary challenges. After being successfully rewilded at the Humane Tourism™ certified Nyosi Wildlife Reserve, she became a self-sufficient hunter and symbol of conservation success. But her story took a dramatic turn when she was found with a broken leg. To complicate matters, she had just given birth to four cubs. Thanks to funding from the Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa and the dedicated efforts of local wildlife teams, Nkanyiso received life-saving surgery, and her cubs were located and brought to her side. We continue to monitor her progress with the hope of reintroducing her and her cubs into the wild when the time is right. This story showcases the resilience of nature and the importance of ongoing conservation work.

After two years apart, we helped reunite U.S. Army Sgt. Michael and his retired military dog, Dasty! The pair served together for four years, including a deployment to Afghanistan, where Dasty saved lives by detecting explosives. After learning of Dasty’s retirement, Michael contacted us, and we arranged and covered the costs for Dasty’s journey from Fort Meyer to Green Bay. Now, Dasty will enjoy his well-deserved retirement with Michael's family, and we will cover the costs of lifelong veterinary care for this deserving hero.
