As Yom Kippur approaches, our hearts are heavy with the weight of the past year. This Day of Atonement, we pray not only for personal redemption but for the safe return of the 101 hostages still in Gaza and a more peaceful year ahead. From all of us at AJC, we wish you an easy and meaningful fast this Yom Kippur. G’mar chatimah tovah.

Hamas murdered, tortured, and kidnapped Israeli civilians. It also steals aid meant for Palestinians and intentionally puts civilians in harm's way. Hamas is no friend to the Palestinian people and must be defeated. AJC.org/IsraelHamasWar

A year after the October 7 massacre, its impact is still deeply felt across Israel. Families continue to mourn the victims, civilians remain displaced by ongoing rocket fire, and many are still desperately fighting for the release of their loved ones held captive by Hamas. We continue to support Israel’s right to defend its citizens and call on global leaders to bring the hostages home NOW! AJC.org/BringThemHome

The pain endured by the families of the hostages and the victims of the October 7 massacre is beyond comprehension. For an entire year, these families have desperately pleaded for the release of their loved ones, forced to hear the harrowing testimonies of those freed, knowing their own are enduring the same horrors. Time is running out. We must bring the remaining hostages home now! AJC.org/BringThemHome

26,000 rockets. That's an average of over 70 per day, every day for the past year—all aimed at Israeli civilians. Iranian proxies continue to fire more each day. This is what Israel is up against. This is the reality. https://lnkd.in/eDm3EcEK

One year has passed since the horrors of October 7, when Hamas terrorists kidnapped 250+ people. Their lives, and the lives of their loved ones, were shattered. In the months that followed, 154 hostages, including 37 who were murdered, were either released through negotiations, rescued, or recovered. 101 hostages, many of whom are no longer alive, still remain in Gaza. We cannot allow another day to pass while these individuals suffer in captivity. We demand their immediate release NOW! AJC.org/BringThemHome

The extent of Hamas’ sexual violence defies words. The first-hand accounts from witnesses of this violence will shake you to your core. Last February, the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel submitted its report on Hamas’ use of sexual violence on October 7. Warning, these are extremely difficult to read. An entire family kidnapped by Hamas on October 7. The bright red hair of 6-year-old Ariel and 1-year-old Kfir Bibas, along with the terrified look on Shiri and Yarden’s faces, are seared into our collective memory. Baby Kfir has spent most of his life, including his first birthday, as a hostage of Hamas. How twisted must someone be to kidnap a baby and small child? End their nightmare, bring the Bibas family home NOW! AJC.org/BringThemHome

Edan, Itay, Sagui, Gadi, Judith, Omer, and Keith are American citizens still held hostage in Gaza. They are more than names. They are loved ones. They are missed. And they must come home. #BringThemHomeNow. https://lnkd.in/gYveKZSk
