Earlier this week, the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation presented a $150,000 grant to Total Community Action in support of their work in the New Orleans community. This funding will be used to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) among children aged 0-5 and their families in TCA’s Head Start programs. This initiative will include comprehensive training for educators and staff to deepen their understanding of trauma and equip them with trauma-informed practices. TCA will also use these funds to conduct parent education workshops to enhance awareness of ACEs and provide families with effective coping strategies, fostering active engagement in their children’s development. Care is truly at the heart of our work.
