Captured moments of my love for fitness, and bringing people together for a great cause. Growing up I was always athletic and very competitive when it came to sports, and my love for weight training started very early too, around the age of 13. As soon as I turned 15, I had a gym membership and started reading body building magazines which most people found odd but I had a love for fitness at a young age. I guess you can say I knew the direction I wanted to go post secondary, and I spent over 12 years coaching people full time. I spent 5 years competing in fitness competitions, which brought new challenges such as developing an eating disorder, and at the time I didn’t know it would be a silver lining for my life today, owning Amino Balls Inc. Amino Balls came to life when I needed to find balance in my diet but still enjoy dessert. I was tired of the blood sugar fluctuations which made me lethargic and very unhappy with traditional sweets. My vision was to feel energized, satisfied and never guilty when eating dessert so the answer was creating a low glycemic, protein packed snack that tasted like dessert !! Simple right ? Not quite It took 1.5 years to launch Amino Balls into retail. I carefully studied the market, the trends and asked myself the question “is there a need for my product ? Am I solving a problem for people ? Is there a market for my product ? The answers were all YES YES YES !!! “Healthy snacks that taste like dessert” came to market and I’ve had many people thanking me for sticking to my vision and helping others with their nutrition goals !! I have diabetics thanking us for making a dessert they can eat. Parents thanking us for making nut free protein packed snacks for their kids lunches that they actually love. We have customers writing to us that Amino Balls have helped them avoid binge eating by balancing their blood sugar. Vegans and vegetarians thank us for making a product that doesn’t taste chalky or use junky ingredients. The list goes on …. Amino Balls started with a vision and came to life !!! I have another vision, and it is to continue bringing people together for a great cause and making a difference. Thank you to all that donated, participated, and worked on this event. I practice what I preach and believe in living a healthy lifestyle ………. But I am far from perfect ….. I love my sweets and overcame an eating disorder The struggles I had with craving sugar all day long, left me lethargic and embarrassing to say, very moody and unhappy. What I learned over the years by experimenting with my diet, is balancing your blood sugar and looking for low glycemic foods not only curbed my appetite but my energy was consistent and I was happier overall. My takeaway is find balance in your eating habits and make smarter decisions when it comes to your desserts, there are low glycemic and even keto options out there that taste great !!
