The 2024 AMMP Accelerator has officially wrapped following an incredible inaugural Demo Day. Last Friday, the five cohort participants pitched their organization to a panel of judges in pursuit of obtaining funding through awards for People’s Choice, runner-up Most Investable Company, and the Most Investable Company. I’m delighted to share that BioMang was the runner-up at the Demo Day pitch competition held in Detroit on August 16th! This marks yet another significant milestone in our journey toward revolutionizing manganese production. Our progress in manganese bioleaching has been incredible, and this recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire team. I’m incredibly proud to work alongside my PhD advisor, Timothy Eisele, and BioMang advisors, Samuel Haberl, Frank Blackman, and Vraj Mehta; your advice, efforts, and commitment have been the driving force behind our success. I’m beyond grateful to have each of you on this journey. A special thanks to the AMMP Accelerator and MTEC SmartZone for organizing such a fantastic event. Special shoutout to David Rowe, Grace Hsia Haberl, Katherine Kirsch, Carolyn Yarina, and Jason Mack for your invaluable support and guidance throughout this journey. The experience has been truly invaluable, providing us with insights, connections, and the push we needed to reach new heights. Last Friday marked the end of the 14-week long program AMMP Accelerator! As part of my new role with MTEC SmartZone, I helped with marketing initiatives for the program inaugural year. This included content creation, photography, and brand development for these new startup companies. It's been a pleasure working with all these eager founders and excited to see what the graduating business do next!
