In 2023, an estimated 10.8 million people fell ill with tuberculosis (TB) worldwide: 🧑 6.0 million men 👩 3.6 million women 👶 1.3 million children TB knows no borders—it’s present in all countries and all age groups. But here’s the good news: TB is curable and preventable when diagnosed and treated early. As #WorldTBDay approaches (3/24), help us spread awareness. Every voice matters in the fight against TB. 🔁 Repost and help spread the word!

About us
Antimicrobial Resistance Threatens Everyone. All of us need to be resistance fighters. With that said, we welcome all individuals and organizations in the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The Antimicrobial Resistance Fighter Coalition aspires to change behaviors across the globe that will maintain the effectiveness of antibiotics for future generations. Our goal is to share stories, facts, and awareness on the spread of AMR and how we can change our behaviors now to prevent it from becoming a bigger problem than it already is.

MDR-TB isn’t just a health crisis—it’s a global threat. In 2023, only 2 in 5 people with drug-resistant TB got treatment. The rest? Left behind. And untreated TB spreads. World TB Day is coming. Let’s make some noise. Awareness leads to action, and action saves lives. 🔁 Repost this to spread awareness

As World TB Day nears, let’s talk about a growing danger—multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. In 2022, 10.6 million people had TB worldwide. When treatment isn’t followed exactly, the disease fights back. It gets stronger. Harder to cure. The solution starts with you. Take every dose. On time. No skipping. No stopping early. That’s how we beat resistance. Want to learn more? Tune in to Superbugs and You, Episode 3: "Resistance That Spreads Through the Air" - https://bit.ly/3DBoaOl #WorldTBDay #AMResistanceFighters

Timely antimicrobial susceptibility tests (ASTs) save lives and help fight resistance. A global survey shows why new antibiotics, better diagnostics, and smart stewardship must work together. Explore the key findings & read the full study: https://lnkd.in/ggqCmTNq
Timely #AntimicrobialSusceptibilityTests (ASTs) are critical for improving outcomes in seriously ill patients and tackling #AntimicrobialResistance. Increasingly, these two challenges go hand in hand. This #TechnicalTuesday, we highlight findings from a multinational survey of 300 healthcare professionals across six countries. The survey explored how new antimicrobial agents (#antibiotics) and diagnostics intersect in #AntimicrobialStewardship efforts. Key findings: 🔶 8️⃣ 2️⃣ % agreed: The appropriate use of newly released antimicrobials may depend on suitable diagnostics being available. 🔶 6️⃣ 1️⃣ % agreed: Lack of diagnostic test availability is a barrier to appropriate use of new antimicrobials. Rapidly incorporating new antimicrobials into commercial ASTs can close this gap — ensuring faster, broader access to effective treatments while supporting #AntimicrobialStewardship. Did you know? Hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol are a fast and effective way to kill harmful germs when soap and water aren’t available, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Contrary to common myths, alcohol-based sanitizers don’t contribute to antimicrobial resistance—they kill germs differently than antibiotics. Stay informed, stay clean, and let’s work together to combat AMR. 🔷 #AMResistanceFighters #AMR #Superbugs
