The year may be more than half over, but we can still look at the glass half-full on USMTO outlook. Orders of manufacturing technology totaled $360.8 million in August 2024. The final day of MTForecast has begun but before we highlight today's sessions, there was even more content from yesterday to talk about! AMT's Principal Economist Chris Chidzik chatted about the Gardner Business Media, Inc. Capital Spending Survey before handing it off to Tonya Bodell, Partner and Executive Director at StoneTurn for an outlook on the energy market. Then we drove into the automotive market outlook by Bill Rinna of GlobalData Automotive before closing out the day with Chief Revenue Officer of AMT, Travis Egan giving a recap of the day and what to expect as we go into today. Midday of MTForecast was jampacked with content for our attendees! AMT Vice President of Research, Kevin Bowers discussed AMT's ability to assist on questions ranging from additive to semi-conductors. Then we heard from Cara Walton of Wipfli about what to expect in manufacturing based on what they've heard from their surveys. Then, we broke for lunch before splitting off for breakouts on topics like AI, marketing and more! We can't wait for the rest of the day and what is to come tomorrow!

MTForecast has officially kicked off! Last night we enjoyed workshops and welcome reception and today, we got into all of the forecasts. AMT President Douglas Woods kicked off the day with opening remarks before handing it off to Thomas Walstrum, Senior Business Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for a look at the potential future of manufacturing. We then got a forecast from Mark Killion, CFA, Director of US Industries at Oxford Economics who gave us a peek at the future of machine tool orders in 2025.
