Have you ever noticed many DTC brands… kind of look the same? They use the same minimalist imagery and neutral color palette. There’s no differentiation. This is, according to Bloomberg, the era of “blanding.” It’s getting better, but many DTC brands still have a long way to go when it comes to differentiation. Your market position makes all the difference. When you position yourself to stand out against your competitors, this USP can allow your CAC to go down drastically. Creating a USP is about a lot more than a fancy logo or brand colors. Truly standing out against your competition in the hyper-competitive DTC space requires building a unique brand. Doing your positioning work today means that your brand can stay relevant and top-of-mind for years. Here are a few lessons we’ve learned about what makes a USP successful ⬇️

The more product choices your customers have, the longer it will take them to make a decision. This idea comes from Hick’s Law, a lesson in psychology that discovered it’s harder to choose when many options are available. Ever heard of analysis paralysis? It’s the same thing! And believe it or not, analysis paralysis may just be costing you sales from first-time site visitors. Here’s how to fix that. #ecommerce #userexperience #consumerbehavior

Trade Coffee offers one of the internet’s favorite coffee subscriptions. They regularly make best-of lists for their variety and freshness. And Reddit comments rave about their curated approach. Towards the end of 2023, however, Trade Coffee had a problem: their subscriber base was large (and growing), but their digital infrastructure couldn’t keep up. Their custom Solidus solution had become too complex to scale efficiently.  The result? Soaring maintenance costs and stalled innovation speed. Trade Coffee chose to partner with Anatta to strategically overhaul their digital infrastructure, and together we achieved an incredible outcome: An expedited migration to Shopify of 5,000+ products and hundreds of thousands of customer records in just 120 days. We also helped Trade:  - Achieve a substantial uptick in conversion rates - Reduce reliance on custom code and as a result, maintenance costs  - Integrate best-of-breed third-party apps such as Ordergroove  - Enhance their acquisition efforts with innovative custom solutions, leveraging technology like AI  Read: https://lnkd.in/gh5799ZG

4 Reasons Your Subscription Customers Are Canceling: Even the best, most compelling subscription experiences lose a certain percentage of subscribers each month. In 2024, the average churn rate for subscriptions across all industries is 4.1% (according to Recurly). Churn is impossible to mitigate entirely (40% of US consumers in 2022 felt they had too many subscriptions). But it is possible to reduce. Reducing churn first requires brands to deeply understand why customers cancel and second, develop the data necessary to predict when a customer is about to churn. Then, brands need to re-engage customers before churn happens. Here are the four most common reasons we see for eCommerce subscription churn or cancellation.

Is your product pricing easy enough to find on your DTC website? It may seem obvious, but we’ve seen many sites with poor price transparency and visibility over our 15+ years in the industry. The price of your product is one of the most essential pieces of information your customer needs. And that means more than just the base price. Price also includes: > Taxes > Shipping fees > Return costs > Price per unit on packs (86% of sites don’t do this yet) > Anything else that gets added on at the end 🔴 Why Transparent Pricing Makes a Difference Transparent Pricing matters for two reasons: 48% of consumers will abandon their cart if there are unexpected extra costs (Baymard) 86% of US consumers place a very high value on brand transparency If you’ve got hidden fees that only appear at checkout, you break your customer’s trust—and you may never get it back. 🔴 How to Display Pricing Better The more visible your price, the better. The more transparent your brand is, the more effectively you build customer trust. Make sure your price is displayed in a larger bolded font so it stands out from other text on the PDP Explicitly state shipping prices before customers start the checkout process 🔴 KPIs to Measure Around Pricing Transparency If you’re experimenting with improving your pricing transparency, here are some KPIs to watch:: Cart abandonment rate Bounce rate Conversion rate - 👋 Leave us a comment and let us know if you enjoyed this post! #ecommerce #dtc
