When I think about getting swag at events, the first thing that comes to mind is a eye roll. Swag is boring as hell. Why? Because most of what is offered is stuff that is going to the hotel trash. Like it won’t even get in my luggage. But that isn’t all events. When we were asked to come up with a swag shop for our clients, we wanted to not only have it look like a actual store, but to display intentional items. Our clients knew that their audience needed resources they will cling to. Books, record albums, journals, shirts and more where all in inventory. Reconsider your swag and ask yourself, do folks need another coffee mug?

One thing we need to be intentional about, is how people can network at your next event. Imagine inviting a group of people to your home and they have no place to sit. People are going to give you the necessary side eye. Come on friend let's think this through. To network, you need inviting spaces that offer a mix of seating options. Some folks like to stand, some like to sit. Teaming up with NPR we made things intentional with the layout and so should you at your next event.
