We are so proud of our Founder & Studio Director Karla Reyes for winning Game Dev Heroes Progression Advocate award! Karla has always been a champion of diversity, inclusion, and sparking change in the games industry. Karla raised over $1.5M for scholarships and grants through Code Coven, led DE&I initiatives at Square Enix and Niantic, and now runs Anima Interactive, our studio that focuses on driving positive cultural change through games. Congratulations Karla! 🎉

ICYMI: After a successful inaugural Just Play event, we are thrilled to announce our next iteration in this movement. Just Play: A Game Jam for Climate Futures challenges creators to explore the future of our planet through interactive media. Our world is changing at an unprecedented rate, and in order to mitigate the effects of climate change, we need collective action. Climate change impacts not only the environment, but also the health, safety and well-being of billions of people across the globe. The visibility of stories that highlight global warming's impact on humanity, especially the most vulnerable individuals, can aid in shaping narratives about climate change that promote immediate structural change. Video games offer a unique and immense platform to share these stories. There is a $10k grand prize for the jam, and select finalists will be invited to showcase at the Hollywood Climate Summit closing night party in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater at Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences HQ in Los Angeles on June 28, 2024. We are thrilled to host the Just Play Awards, our inaugural official #SXSW flagship games event with Cinereach this Saturday, March 9th from 7:30pm CST. The Just Play game jam challenged developers from across the globe to weave justice themes and narratives into video game projects and inspire new perspectives.
