Antora is unlocking zero-emissions industrial energy, cheaper than fossil fuels.
About us
Antora is unlocking zero-emissions industrial energy, cheaper than fossil fuels. Antora’s thermal batteries store energy from renewables as heat for days on end, delivering that stored energy as heat and power at the scale and temperatures that large industrial operations demand. We’re on a path to eliminate gigatons of emissions while strengthening domestic manufacturing, curbing industrial air pollution, and enhancing America’s clean energy leadership. We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and build with humility and openness. We are committed to continue building a diverse, passionate, and creative team dedicated to a future where every industrial facility, everywhere on earth, is powered by abundant, low-cost, zero-emissions energy.

We are excited to share that Ty Jagerson has joined Antora as our VP of Business Development. Ty is a dynamic leader with more than 25 years of experience launching and growing energy businesses at companies including Google, General Motors, and Xerox PARC. Ty has overseen the installation of hundreds of clean energy projects, and has raised over $300M of corporate, government, and venture financing. After a decade in the solar and storage industries, Ty joined Google’s X, the moonshot factory to develop Tapestry, a system that allows utilities to better manage and model the electric utility grid and accelerate the deployment of renewables. Following Tapestry, Ty led project development for Malta, a Google spin-out developing long-duration grid storage. Most recently, Ty launched the General Motors V2X business unit as a founding executive at GM Energy, where he ran commercial hardware sales, V2X software, and fleet electrification services. Ty holds an MBA from Wharton and has worked professionally in over 25 countries. As detailed in The Wall Street Journal, grids with lots of wind and solar deployment are seeing a fundamental transformation in local and regional electricity markets: wholesale electricity prices are consistently dropping to zero or even falling negative. In fact, wholesale prices across continental Europe have fallen to zero or below in 6% of all hours this year, while markets with higher renewable generating capacity saw even higher figures: 8% in the Netherlands, 11% in Finland, and 12% in Spain. Parts of the United States are even farther along, such as Southern California, where wholesale prices were negative nearly 20% of all hours this year. This week in Madrid at the 15th World Conference on Thermophotovoltaic (TPV) Generation of Electricity, Antora’s Dr. Brendan Kayes presented on how Antora’s heat-to-power technology unlocks zero-emission heat & power for industries around the world. When it’s needed most, Antora’s heat-to-power technology converts heat stored in Antora’s thermal battery into on-demand electricity, enabling manufacturers to decarbonize while significantly reducing electricity costs. Antora has opened the world’s first dedicated manufacturing line for TPV, and was recently selected for award negotiations by ARPA-E to scale up TPV production for our second product, a combined heat and power thermal battery. https://lnkd.in/d2fZxTzq
