Dr. Sarah Beranek, a particle physicist by trade, has over 10 years of experience in data analysis, working in multiple international physics collaborations at CERN. In 2019, she joined AppTek, a global leader in human language technologies, as a speech recognition scientist. Now, instead of reconstructing elementary particles and studying the nature of the universe, Sarah is enthusiastic about challenges in the reconstruction of human voice to text, working on video accessibility solutions catering to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, media monitoring and speech analytics, or ground-breaking applications of speech translation such as automatic dubbing.
