When we say we’re focusing our efforts on planting 500 million trees in areas of greatest need, we’re talking about forests and communities where planting trees will have the biggest impact and do the most good for not just people in that area, but the world as a whole. We identify those areas by using the latest scientific data and the help of our global network of planting partners. Think of cities with the highest levels of smog and air pollution, where underserved residents have higher instances of respiratory conditions and a lower quality of life. Think of forests that are important to the planet’s air quality and ecosystems, like the Amazon Rainforest, that have been devastated by logging, farming, and wildfires. When we plant trees in those areas, we’re able to slow the mounting effects of a changing climate. We’re in this together, affected by what happens down the street, over state lines, and in other continents. #ATreeCanBe an answer, protecting our future for generations. https://lnkd.in/gFjR-mU2

We're living in an era in which trust is hard-won and easily lost. In the face of potential criticism, silence can feel like a safe bet. But in reality, it's a dangerous gamble for the well-being of our planet. When businesses keep their climate actions under wraps, they undermine their own ability to make a meaningful impact. In a time when we should be accelerating the momentum of corporate climate action, greenhushing is slowing it down and depriving green initiatives of the attention and investment they desperately need. History's greatest movements did not happen in the dark. True progress requires openness. Sometimes it's messy. Sometimes it might yield criticism. And that's okay. Learn more in Inc. Among humans, it’s safe to say that those who are older are indeed wiser. The same holds true for trees. Old-growth forests have some of the oldest trees on the planet that do more than we can ever imagine. Soaring, majestic, protective, enlightened, these trees link us to our past and defend us from an uncertain environmental future. Old trees know what it takes to keep our planet healthy. We’d be wise to do whatever it takes to protect them 💪

Meet Esther, a dedicated steward of the land in Nicaragua. Esther knows the toll farming can have on the land. She and her husband have been farming for the past 15 years. After learning about the reforestation program, she knew it was the right thing to do for her land and family. She has the space and the desire to protect the environment and strengthen the soil for her kids and grandkids. In Somoto, Nicaragua, our partners ar Taking Root are incentivizing farmers like Esther Estrada Espinoza to plant trees. A lot of trees. More trees lead to more possibilities. They lead to economic mobility. They lead to plant diversity and soil recovery. They lead to slowing the effects of climate change for the farmers and the producers who feel it the most.

Trees, trees, and more trees. Urban trees have the power to increase the good and reduce the bad. From improving air quality to boosting health to lowering temperatures to creating opportunities for people to go outside and connect, trees have the power to change our environment for the better. That's why we’re determined to plant more of them in neighborhoods where they’re needed most. Who’s with us? 🙌

BIG impact often comes from small beginnings 🌱 These hundreds of thousands of trees being planted in📍Nepal will dramatically restore forests AND improve livelihoods for those who call this region home. The planting sites are located in upland areas of the mountainous Nawalparasi District, along lowland alluvial plains, and around Chitwan National Park as a means of developing a buffer zone around this national treasure. Whether growing in a backyard, city park, national forest, or tropical rainforest, every tree on this planet is working hard to provide the necessities of life itself. Every tree counts. 📷 Eden Reforestation

We have an ambitious goal to reach. We’re planning on doing what it took us about 50 years to accomplish in just a few short years: plant 500 million trees by 2027. Why? How much time do you have? The short answer is we’re facing global challenges like never before and something needs to be done. Now. Trees and forests remain the most affordable, scalable nature-based solution available today. And when they’re planted in the right places in the right soil at the right time in forests and neighborhoods we’re they’ll have the greatest impact, we’ll all have a fighting chance against environmental threats. But it’s going to take all of us—various industries and people from all walks of life to join forces and plant together. To commit to reshaping and regreening the planet. Who’s with us?

100,000 trees planted in📍British Columbia, Canada In 2017, the Hanceville Fire raged through British Columbia, burning 240,000 hectares of land. Because of extreme heat, portions of this burned forestland cannot regenerated naturally and MUST be replanted. Huge shoutout to our planting partners, Zanzibar, for helping us plant these trees and saving decades of regrowth for the forest 👏🤩🌳 📷 Zanzibar

Most people will think of flowers rather than trees when they think of butterflies, but the oyamel forest in Mexico’s Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve is critical for the survival of the migratory monarch species. The migratory monarch butterfly, a beloved pollinator, reached a devastating milestone in July of 2022 as it was officially listed as endangered by the IUCN. This drastic decline has made the restoration of the monarch habitat vital. Each year, millions of monarchs migrate to the oyamel forest in Mexico. Amazingly, each fir tree can shelter as many as 20,000 butterflies, making the restoration of this forest essential. Fortunately, with the help of our international network of planting partners, specifically Land Life Company, the protection of the monarch's winter habitat is possible. And that is one step closer to a world where these butterflies can once again thrive. See how #ATreeCanBe a home 🦋🌳 https://lnkd.in/g4raFkWu
