Big news! ☀️🎉 Perch Energy is merging with our community solar business to form the largest community solar acquisition and management platform in the US. This transformative venture will manage over 3GW of solar capacity, serving more than 300,000 customers across 16 states across 1,000 solar projects. The joint venture will leverage the best of both companies — fusing Arcadia's market-leading software, Perch’s historical strength serving commercial customers, and the combined teams’ management leadership and policy expertise — to ensure a smooth transition for all customers. "We're thrilled to join forces with Perch and continue delivering millions of bill savings for residential and commercial customers," said Kiran Bhatraju, who will continue to serve as CEO of Arcadia and will also sit on the new venture’s board. Bruce Stewart, President and CEO of Perch, will serve as the CEO of the new company. "Bruce and team share our values and belief in community solar as the best energy product in the market, and as an essential tool in the coming years to create resilient distribution grids.” The merger comes as Arcadia expands its operations as an energy solutions platform for global businesses — providing utility data integrations, AI-powered analytics, and end-to-end energy management. While this new venture will operate as a standalone business focused on community solar, Arcadia's platform will continue to leverage the scale of this solar capacity with our Energy Procurement offering. Today marks a big milestone for the solar industry, as Arcadia and Perch Energy combine our community solar businesses to create the largest platform of its kind in the US. Community solar remains the best energy product in the market and an essential tool for building resilient distribution grids. I’ve always been bullish on community solar as a necessary asset class to expand clean energy access and create resilient local power grids — I firmly believe it will be bigger than rooftop solar one day. When I first met Max Duckworth and Rohit Marwaha over six years ago they were taking on some of the most difficult structuring in wholesale power markets: 24/7 clean energy. But not just in name with west Texas RECs... they were structuring physical short and medium term PPAs direct with clean energy producers with concurrent RECs from the same projects. IYKYK how insanely hard that is to price and pull off. I didn't think it was possible at the time, but in the years since they have served large blue-chip customers with complex, but impactful PPAs.
