A big win for the Pennsylvania Dental Association, an Archer Public Affairs (“APA”) client. Yesterday, Governor Josh Shapiro signed House Bill 1664 into law as Act 58 of 2024, which was a top legislative priority this Session for the PA Dental Association. APA Director, Peg Callahan – Kuskin, has been the key lobbyist for the Association, which has over 8,000 Members. This legislation is a victory for dentists and their patients, ensuring that dental care remains accessible and affordable across the Commonwealth. A judge’s decision allowing stores to continue selling hemp products with THC is the topic of several news stories, which include comments from APA Managing Director, Bill Caruso. In NJ Spotlight News. “The issue of out-of-state manufactured hemp products, intoxicating hemp products, was never going to be enforceable because of interstate commerce. The court ruled that, in fact, was the case. And so that when New Jersey developed its regulated market, it could not prevent the importation of out-of-state hemp-derived products.” To read more of Bill’s comments and the complete articles: https://bit.ly/3NA4JXj #CannabisLaw #HempLaw

In historic news for the Alzheimer’s Association in Pennsylvania, an Archer Public Affairs (“APA”) client, Governor Josh Shapiro signed Senate Bill 840 into law that establishes an Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) Division and Advisory Committee at PA Department of Aging. APA Director, Jennifer Ebersole (Levengood), played a major role for the organization navigating the state government process to not only make sure this bill crossed the finish line, but Jennifer and the APA team were also instrumental in securing nearly $2 million in the state budget passed in July. Jennifer is pictured here (far right) at the Alzheimer’s Association PA Advocacy Day in May.
