    The Sherwin-Williams 2025 Color Capsule of the Year may come as a surprise. Since 2010, the leading paint brand has helped designers and consumers sift through swatches by proclaiming an annual #ColoroftheYear. Now, in honor of the program’s 15th anniversary, they haven’t just shared a 2025 Color of the Year, but a whole Color Capsule.     A few years ago, Pamela Anderson was feeling aimless. Unsure of what was next professionally, she went back to her roots: Arcady, her family’s plot in Ladysmith, Vancouver, where she was raised. It needed some work. A few of the cabins on the compound had rotten floors, some had to be torn down completely. Her homecoming marked a restorative time for both the estate and the actor, who is now heralding a full-fledged career renaissance. “I wanted to peel it all back, to really check in with myself, to remember who I am and not what everybody else is telling me I am,” Anderson tells AD. Lucky for the Hollywood icon, that fallow period granted her time to nurture some hobbies outside of showbiz—like gardening and cooking with fresh homegrown produce—before it all ramped up again.     Picking the color of the year is a delicate process—just ask the pros behind the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2025 Palette. You have to capture the aesthetic moment, translating disparate trends and emerging design movements into a single, resonant color choice. Since most consumers don’t feel like repainting their home every year, leaning too far into today’s 15-minute trends can tank a brand’s color credibility while leaving their customers cringing with regret. That search for a happy medium between trendy and timeless explains why Benjamin Moore landed on Cinnamon Slate as its 2025 Color of the Year. At first glance, it might seem like a strong rebuke of Raspberry Blush and Blue Nova, the brand’s highly saturated 2023 and 2024 Colors of the Year, respectively. In truth, Cinnamon Slate represents less of a break from the recent past than the continuation of subtler trends bubbling up to the surface. Brad Ford Has Ideas “It’s always a little bit of a nutty month,” says interior designer Brad Ford, calling in virtually from Fair, his design showroom and firm HQ at the New York Design Center. A few days prior, the showroom had been packed like sardines for What’s New, What’s Next, the New York design community’s unofficial back-to-school soirée. No time to reset, Ford had already turned his attention to Field + Supply, his semi-annual festival of contemporary craft that returns to Kingston, New York, this weekend.
