The TOPS transaction is an exciting milestone that deepens Archrock’s compression operations in the Permian Basin and establishes our leadership position in electric motor drive compression. Looking ahead, Archrock will be well positioned to expand our exceptional service to new and existing customers and meet the growing demand for lower carbon solutions.
Today marks a new chapter for TOPS as we officially transition to the Archrock team. When I started with TOPS in 2006, we had a very small gas compressor fleet, but a clear vision of delivering outstanding service and uptime to our customers. In 2011, we saw the future of the industry and the clear benefits of electric-driven compression. Despite many naysayers and being labeled as a "niche" market, our focus was to become the leading source for electric-driven compression. As we continued the build-out of an incredibly talented team, over the past couple of years, we progressed to being not only the leading source for electric-driven compression but also the premier compression provider in the Permian Basin. This would not be possible without a truly dedicated and talented team. Our mechanical and I&E technicians simply get the job done day in and day out, delivering excellent results to our customers 365 days a year in the field and shops. Our engineering team has been at the forefront of developing industry-leading innovation. Our sales team understands our mission and commitment to our customers. We also have dedicated office, safety, parts, and HR personnel who ensure the best for all our employees. And finally, I want to thank our many vendors and equipment packagers who have supported us in every way possible over the years. The great news is that this is not the final chapter for TOPS. The entire team will be joining Archrock and starting a new business unit solely focused on electric-driven compression that I will lead. We are thrilled to join a company focused on sustainability, optimization, and delivering industry-leading uptime to customers. Archrock's commitment to employee culture, training, and safety will only make us better. We are excited and ready to add to Archrock's vision of powering a cleaner America.
