The chances of us meeting the right people in life are astronomically increased when we put ourselves out there in the world. Common sense, right? Well, I suppose it's common sense, but it's certainly easier said than done. Being out there in the community sharing your audacious dreams, standing in front of entire audiences and being vulnerable with your life's work... and ultimately soaking up all the things people tell you. The good, the bad, and the ugly. It's no small feat. And yet people like Amar Amte do so every single day. He's the founder of Pegbo, a software platform in the construction space that supports local, small and diverse suppliers -- like us at Novateck. He's not one to shy away from a conversation and I know this because I've run into him so often in the last six month. Trade shows in San Francisco. Coffee in Fremont. Builders Forums in San Jose. This man is everywhere working to make a difference. Diversity, equity and inclusion. Software tools and platforms. Public speaking and community development. Leadership and empowerment. That's Amar in a nutshell. And you know what? That's pretty much me as well. So it's a good thing we both continue putting ourselves out there in the world. It gives us a chance to see one another and I believe it's going to ultimately benefit our communities at scale. There's just too much skill, strength and optimism between us and our respective organizations to think otherwise. - Pegbo & Novateck #construction #diversity #localbusiness #contractors #suppliers #electrical #lowvoltage #videosurveillance #networkcabling #telecom

Tomorrow is Random Acts of Kindness Day! Civiltech strives to include kindness, gratitude, and service in our business principles. We recognize these three pillars of our success. Service – Serving our clients with high level, responsive service is a founding principle of Civiltech. However, service also includes serving our clients’ communities and the communities in which our staff live, work, and play. We strive to serve our clients and our communities both professionally and in a “giving back” capacity as neighbors, family, and friends. Team – Civiltech is an employee-focused company that prioritizes professional fulfillment and work/life balance. One way in which we support our employee’s work/life balance is with our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) benefit. We support and encourage our employees to give back in ways that are meaningful to them, and we provide company volunteer events that not only allow us to give back as a company, but to build team camaraderie. Clients – Civiltech is profoundly grateful to the clients who have trusted us with their important projects over the years. As transportation industry professionals, our client base is predominantly public agencies. As such, the ultimate end user of a Civiltech project is the people within the community in which the project is based. We support our clients not only in providing high-level, state-of-the-art, and responsible solutions to their infrastructure projects, but in improving their communities through volunteer efforts. #RandomActsOfKindnessDay #SpreadLove #KindnessMatters #MakeADifference #CiviltechAnniversary #Engineering #CivilEngineering #TransportationEngineering

I recently visited Findhorn, the spiritual and eco-community in Scotland which was founded in the early 60's. For a long time, I had wanted to experience Findhorn firsthand. Intrigued by its ethos, I delved into the essence of Findhorn and discovered profound lessons about myself, Mother Earth, and the intricacies of communal living. It was an eye-opening journey, revealing both the beauty and the challenges that shape such a community. Meeting with the CEO of Findhorn Foundation, I posed many questions about how love, greed, and reality coexist within their unique structure. My questions were met with an openness I hadn’t expected, providing deep insights into the community's core values and struggles. Findhorn has faced significant adversity, most notably the devastating arson attacks that targeted two of its central buildings. The arsonist, consciously or unconsciously, struck at the heart of the community, attempting to dismantle the very spirit that binds it together. Such acts often force us into individualistic survival mode, threatening the collective ethos. Yet, as Terry Gilbey aptly put it, "Never let a crisis go to waste." In these words, I find a powerful reminder of resilience and the potential for a resurgence of deeper values and a fortified core, ready to embrace the future with renewed strength and unity. Rebuilding Findhorn is in its early stages, but if the community can come together to relight the candle of hope for a better world and for the love it shares with Mother Nature, there is a real chance for transformative change. This visit was a poignant reminder that even in the face of adversity, communities like Findhorn can emerge stronger, more connected, and more committed to their shared vision. Findhorn is not alone in facing a crisis; it's a current epidemic. Transformation is in the atmosphere, and with it, the hope for a better, more united world. #SustainableLiving #EcoCommunity #SpiritualJourney #CommunityResilience #FindhornExperience #MotherEarth #CollectiveEthos #CommunityLiving #EnvironmentalAwareness #HopeAndResilience #Transformation #SharedVision #SustainableFuture #RebuildingTogether

I have always been captivated by the idea that no matter how technologically advanced our society becomes, humans will always crave real, face-to-face community. During a recent vision planning session (a special shoutout to Kevin Rains), our team at Garrett Excavating LLC was tasked with crafting a vision statement for our business. Initially, we considered "Becoming the best excavating company in the Cincinnati area" to be a solid vision statement. Kevin, however, respectfully disagreed. 🙂 We move dirt and ensure that what you flush indeed flushes away. But is a vision statement truly necessary for us? As we dove into what we do, we quickly shifted to why we do it. We discussed our ambition to stand out in the trades by offering more than just a service. We explored how our ideal clients value consultation and attention to detail. And ultimately, we discussed our desire to create spaces that unite people. Because, at the end of the day, that's what our efforts culminate in—spaces for worship, for families to grow, for earning a paycheck, and countless other environments that foster community. We are convinced that our work is more than simply moving dirt and laying pipe in the ground, and that is why we’re excited to share the new and improved Garrett Excavating vision statement. We believe that our responsibility and calling is to: Lay the Groundwork for Community Video cred: Thirty21

🌟 Feeling grateful to be part of such a diverse and inclusive organization like Montare Behavioral Health! 🌈✨ I am truly appreciative of the fact that Montare recognizes the importance of Juneteenth and has given us the day off tomorrow to commemorate this significant day in history. It's refreshing to work for a company that values diversity and inclusion, not just in words but in actions. In a time where many organizations simply pay lip service to DEI initiatives, Montare stands out by fostering a culture that celebrates diversity at all levels. From leadership diversity to embracing individuals of different backgrounds, religions, and identities, Montare truly walks the talk. This gesture of granting us the day off for Juneteenth goes a long way in making me feel valued and appreciated. It's moments like these that reaffirm my pride in being part of such a forward-thinking and inclusive workplace. Here's to more organizations like Montare paving the way for a more diverse and equitable future! 🌟🙌 #DiversityandInclusion #Juneteenth #ProudEmployee #MontareBehavioralHealth"
