Amazon has partnered with ICIC and Arctaris Impact Investors to launch the Amazon Accelerate and Empower (Amazon A&E) Program!🎉 This new initiative is designed to speed up the procurement and capital readiness of participating Diverse Owned or Small Businesses (DOSBs). The Connecticut pilot comprises 30 businesses of diverse backgrounds from various industries, including construction, wholesale, retail, and more. Since the Opening Seminar held in Hartford in July, the program has hosted three virtual sessions focused on marketing strategies for working with large organizations, responding to RPFs, and working with Amazon and its allies. Arctaris Impact Investors closed a New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) transaction with Fearless Talent, LLC (dba Fearless Guides), a minority-owned company located in a Baltimore census tract with a 26.4%1 poverty rate. The NMTC financing will be directed to working capital that will create 50 jobs, all of which will pay above a living wage and be accessible to those without a college degree. Arctaris Impact Provides Key Opportunity Zone Investment in $475 Million Mixed Income Development in Gowanus, Brooklyn Arctaris has made a $27 million equity investment in 310 and 340 Nevins Street, a $475 million mixed-use/mixed-income project in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood. The transaction marks Arctaris Impact’s first investment in Brooklyn and will support New York City’s efforts to transform a formerly contaminated industrial area into an economically diverse and vibrant community. The 668-unit property is being developed by Tavros Holdings and Charney Companies, who are utilizing New York's 421a Program to provide 168 permanently affordable units to residents earning an average of 60% of Area Median Income. In addition to resident amenities and waterfront access the development will offer ~45,000 square feet of retail space, fostering opportunities for women- and minority- owned businesses. Arctaris Impact Invests $7.3M in Refrigerated Food Processing Facility in Pennsylvania Opportunity Zone Arctaris is pleased to announce an equity investment in a specialty manufacturing and cold storage facility located at 1050 Talbot Avenue, Braddock, PA. This opportunity allows Arctaris and RDC Design + Build to re-open and lease the state-of-the-art facility to tenants seeking to bring jobs to the region. The facility will provide space for tenants looking to use it for food processing, pharma processing, specialty manufacturing, or cold storage. This work fills a need for critical manufacturing facilities that are in short supply due to the steep cost of refrigeration, HVAC and power requirements. Furthermore, the facility provides tenants with rooftop solar generation and onsite battery storage, reducing emissions and energy costs. This investment was made possible in part through a multimillion dollar commitment to Arctaris from Erie Insurance Group and additional funding from Allegheny County Economic Development. Arctaris Celebrates the Groundbreaking of $220M Front Row Opportunity Zone Project in Downtown Huntsville! Arctaris Impact Investors attended the official groundbreaking ceremony for Front Row, an 11-acre mixed use development in Downtown Huntsville. The development site, where a former Coca Cola bottling plant once stood, will be transformed into 545 residential units, 36,000 square feet of Class-A office space and 47,000 square feet of retail space. Arctaris was represented by Managing Director Nihar S., who joined Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, city officials, and investment partners Essex Capital, Ascend Property Group, Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P. and Silverstein Properties. The ceremony also included a presentation of Front Row's $250,000 donation to the Huntsville Housing Authority. This transformative project will contribute to positive change, offering much-needed housing options to support the city's growing urban population. Front Row also strives to employ minority and women-owned businesses throughout its construction phase, fostering economic inclusivity and diversity. Arctaris is proud to support a gateway project that will connect Downtown Huntsville to the emerging neighborhood of Lowe Mill, effectively expanding the urban core of the city.
