The typical scenario would have him run a successful eSourcing event that identified 15%-20% savings from a new supplier followed by drawing up a contract award recommendation memo. Months later he’d revisit the client only to find out that they had not taken his recommendation but stayed with the incumbent who offered only a 5% savings. Today’s Friday listicle provides several important considerations when replacing an incumbent supplier to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Risk aversion is prevalent in the corporate world.
