In this paper, researchers at The University of Hong Kong have proposed the first energy neutrality-aware multicast firmware distribution framework for energy-harvesting LoRa networks. "To enable accurate trace-driven simulations, we modeled EH LoRa sensors (e.g. energy profiles) according to an off-the-shelf LoRa device. This LoRa device is composed of a microcontroller called Arduino Portenta H7 Lite and an add-on board called Arduino Portenta Vision Shield LoRa."

💡 Found a 2010 Arduino UNO in my basement! Sealed and in “near-mint” condition. It took me back to 2006, to that magical “Heureka!” moment when I made an LED blink for the first time. For me, that little board opened a whole new world! 😅 With Arduino, tech wasn’t just for engineers anymore. Suddenly, anyone could build things, smart home devices, interactive installations, even if they were a designer or product manager with just a bit of Java code. It made complex ideas simple and brought creativity into physical computing. Together with Jens Franke we used Arduino to bring projects like Earthwalk and Chemieraum to life, combining tech and creativity in new ways. We won several awards and toured the world thanks to that. I loved spreading the word through workshops, designing the first splash screen for the Arduino IDE, and seeing people light up with that same excitement I’d felt. And a couple of years later returned to Arduino for Education to support their New Business. Big thanks to Massimo Banzi and David Cuartielles for making it possible. 🙌 They proved that innovation grows best when we share knowledge. Standing on the shoulders of giants, Arduino showed us that with curiosity, anyone can create amazing things. Here’s to the open-source movement and everyone who believes in the power of “YES, I can!” 💪
