This dedicated team of employees is actively working across our nine-county service area to raise awareness and educate communities about the essential services and supports provided by AAA9. August was an incredibly busy month for our team, and we’re excited to share a snapshot from Senior Day at the Holmes County Fair, where our ambassador John connected with over 100 older adults. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about how we support our aging population. We’re proud to serve our community!

Take a good look at your Medicare statements when they come in the mail or online at Medicare.gov. Senior Medicare Patrol groups across the country have gotten reports of people having multiple different claims on the same statement for items and services they never received! Just one statement could have urinary catheters (charges in the thousands of dollars), COVID-19 tests, and a glucose monitor! If you see something that doesn't look right or have questions on how to review your statements, contact the Ohio Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) for help! 800-293-4767.

On August 22, 2024, AAA9 hosted the Opioid and Stimulant Response Professional Conference at the Prichard Laughlin Civic Center. The event brought together speakers from various fields to discuss the complexities of opioid overdose, addiction, and stigma. Together, these perspectives provided a comprehensive look at the ongoing fight against addiction, the prevention efforts towards overdose and the importance of community support and awareness. Special thanks to the Cambridge Police Department; Detective Lt. Wolfe and Detective Braniger, Guernsey Health Choices; Cheyenne Callahan, Cambridge Fire Dept; Steve Helton, Forest Hills Healthcare; Carri Rejonis, iHeart Media; Phyliss Gastgeb, and Jeremy Alexander for all their contributions to this impactful event. On this Overdose Awareness Day (8/31/2024), we honor the memory of those who have lost their lives to the overdose epidemic. Let's stand together in remembrance, raise awareness, and work towards a future where no more lives are lost. 💜 #OverdoseAwarenessDay #EndOverdose #RememberingLives Contact AAA9 at 1-800-945-4250 if you have a need for associated assistance or resources.
