Paul Cassidy North West 200 Crash at 120mph 🏍 “I don't know whether I would be here without my RST leathers” 😧 RST rider Paul Cassidy deemed a 'very lucky man' after NW200 2024 crash. Cassidy landed on a car bonnet after being flung from his bike following a collision with another rider at 120mph. Captured on camera, The Isle of Man TT rider was sent cartwheeling through the air at 25ft, escaping the incident without any major injuries. We caught up with Paul at the IOM TT 2024, just 2 weeks after his NorthWest200 crash, to talk through his now viral and iconic NorthWest 200 crash. "All I was thinking at the time was I need to jump, do not hit that wall. I didn't even think about the car or the house behind it". "After the crash I got up, I shrugged myself off, and there wasn't a scratch on me. That's a big credit to the RST leathers. Without the safety in those leathers, would I be here? I don't know." FLY Racing is thrilled to be the official sponsor of Dirtastic, the premier all-women’s off-road riding camp that empowers riders of all levels. Founded by Kalyn Benaroya, Dirtastic hosts their biggest camp, The Main Event, once a year. This multi-day ride took place May 17-19 at the Motorcycle Riders Association (M.R.A.) property in Jacksonville, Oregon. Seasoned coaches provided valuable skills, fostering growth and confidence to the participants. “This year’s Main Event was the biggest, baddest and raddest yet with nearly 200 women from across the US and Canada camping out and riding for 4 days and 3 nights,” Benaroya said. “These [coaches] are true heroes, making a lasting impact on hundreds of women in the riding community through coaching, riding and racing.” Representing FLY Racing, Hope Stillmock, Race Team Manager, and Hannah Balcos, Social Media and Copywriting Coordinator, saw firsthand the transformative effect Benaroya has on the sport’s passionate female community. In a show of support, FLY Racing provided Benaroya and her coaching team with the latest in high-performance gear, including the 2024 Women’s Lite, Men’s Kinetic Reload, Men’s F-16, and a Formula Carbon helmet. This support not only enhanced the professional look of the coaches but also offered the opportunity to experience the quality and comfort of FLY Racing firsthand. “Getting to see our decked-out FLY coaches execute some awesome training sessions and see all the participants excited to expand their bike skills makes me excited to grow and support this group of rad chicks,” said Stillmock. Stillmock and Balcos received an immense amount of feedback about what women like and do not like in women’s gear. They showcased a range of sizes all of FLY’s 2024 women’s collections and the Formula CC helmet for all the women to try on and give their thoughts on the FLY Racing Women’s gear lines. By gaining the insight of over 200 women on site, communication with the design team will propel women’s gear for years to come.
