2024 SAFe Summit Last week, two of our Resource Manager’s Workspace (RMW) team members, Ryan Tero, Program Manager, and Laura Mattie, Deputy Program Manager, attended the SAFe Summit. Throughout the summit, Ryan and Laura expanded their knowledge and toolbelt of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) techniques such as leadership approaches, tips and tricks for increasing value and efficiencies within the Agile teams, and new insights to how SAFe is revolutionizing system delivery within government agencies. For those unfamiliar, agile is a project management approach to practices like incremental capability releases of new systems, adapting to change, and working across cross-functional teams – Just like we do for RMW. The summit provided both high level approaches as well as advanced topics and scenarios to assist in tailoring agile practices to meet the Army’s unique PPBE needs through RMW. Understanding the role of leadership in SAFe and the ability for the leader to decentralize decision making and take a servant leadership approach is critical in an agile transformation like RMW. Most importantly, the experience reaffirmed our commitment to aligning the RMW solution with the Army's needs, ensuring the tool delivers the highest mission value to its users. #FIMForward #ArmyFinance #SAFeSummit #AgileTransformation #RMW #MissionValue #ArmyTransformation

"By improving visibility into resources, the DoD has made strides in ensuring that the right resources are available at the right time and that limited dollars are not put toward duplicative capabilities. But the benefits go far beyond the record-keeping necessary for a clean financial bill of health. By improving the flow of data, the audit effort is helping to ensure U.S. military dominance into the future." FIM Frontline Spotlight: The Person Behind the Platform - Brendan Davis and the IMO Help Desk In the heart of ASA(FM&C), where over a thousand IT users rely on seamless support, the Information Management Office (IMO) exemplifies steadfast service. Leading this critical mission is Brendan Davis, whose expertise ensures that ASA(FM&C) remains connected. A typical day sees the IMO Help Desk addressing a wide array of IT tasks. This includes issuing equipment, establishing network accounts, providing immediate support to senior leaders, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating support with the network service provider. The IMO enables every member of ASA(FM&C) to perform their duties uninterrupted. One of the team’s biggest challenges arrived with the COVID-19 pandemic. Faced with an unprecedented demand for laptops and network access Brendan and the team delivered when it mattered most. Their swift action ensured that ASA(FM&C) personnel were fully mission capable from anywhere. Keeping ASA(FM&C) connected is a source of pride for Brendan and the team. Looking ahead, they are excited about the transition to a new help desk ticketing system. This system promises to enhance help desk efficiency and issue resolution. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the commitment that Brendan brings to the IMO Help Desk. His work not only provides connectivity but also keeps ASA(FM&C) on path to meet its mission. #FIMForward #ArmyFinance #ArmyTransformation

Last week, Ms. Nikki Cabezas, Director of FIM and Acting Director of EBS-C, participated in a Hispanic Heritage panel discussion, moderated by Col. Denis Fajardo, commander, Red River Army Depot. Ms. Cabezas immigrated to the United States from Ecuador when she was just two years old and is now leading the Army’s largest ever ERP modernization program as a member of the senior executive service. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to share her background as well as learn about her teammates’ heritage because diversity of background and thought enables more effective collaboration. Ms. Cabezas stated: “I think it’s important to have different voices at the table and make spaces for those voices…I am a senior leader, and I appreciate when I have someone who says ‘you know, ma’am? I respectfully disagree and here’s why.’ I want someone who is going to have different perspectives, different opinions and I think that’s the beauty of celebrating diversity and making sure you have those various viewpoints.” We could not be more thrilled to continue this journey with Ms. Cabezas at the helm as EBS-C Director (Acting)!
