Recycling keeps used and damaged lithium-ion #batteries out of landfills, which is essential, but it also provides a new, sustainable source of critical battery materials so #electric #vehicle OEMs can build cleaner #EVs. 🔋 ♻️ Meet the teams of #engineers and #chemists at Ascend Elements who are making North America's first #decarbonized cathode precursor (pCAM) and cathode active material (CAM) to be used in a commercial vehicle battery application. By using our patented Hydro-to-Cathode® direct #precursor synthesis technology and #recycled #battery materials, we can reduce the carbon emissions associated with #cathode manufacturing by up to 90% compared to traditional methods and primary metals from mining. Read more about the first #commercial shipments of U.S.-made, #sustainable pCAM and CAM to Freudenberg e-Power Systems! 👇 https://lnkd.in/ggUu5tAv

Misinformation about electric vehicles is everywhere, but #EVs are, in fact, better for the environment than internal combustion engines...thanks largely to lithium-ion #battery #recycling! With our Hydro-to-Cathode® process, we can recover 98% of the critical metals in used EV #batteries and produce new, engineered battery materials with up to 90% lower #carbon emissions. This means electric vehicles of the near future will be powered by #recycled battery materials with minimal #environmental impact. Learn more with Camila Domonoske of NPR. 👇 https://lnkd.in/ef-p3y_Q

Did you miss the AE Elemental grand opening in Poland last month? Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate this joint venture! 🚗 🔋 ♻️
Did you miss the grand opening of our new #EV #battery #recycling facility in Zawiercie, Poland last month? 🔋 ♻️ Check out this video to reflect on the day! The newly constructed facility can process 12,000 metric tons of used Li-ion batteries each year – or approximately 28,000 EV battery packs annually – making it one of the largest and most advanced Lithium-ion battery recycling facilities in Europe. Nearly 100 customers, business leaders and elected officials from Europe and North America attended the opening ceremony and facility tour on 19 September 2024. U.S. military veterans are playing a huge role in the growth of North America's electric vehicle battery industry. Bloomberg Businessweek writer Saijel Kishan talked to many veterans for this piece, including several from Ascend Elements. Currently, about one third of all employees at our Apex 1 #EV #battery #pCAM facility in Kentucky were hired direct from the U.S. military. We've found military servicemen and women to be mission-focused, adaptable and hard working -- all great characteristics for our team. Thanks to Cory Radcliffe, Andrew Walther, Sarah McManus and all the U.S. military veterans lending your talents to Ascend Elements. https://lnkd.in/gurcf7_i

"Pick the right solution for the right problem." Andrew Aberdale explains how Ascend Elements accelerated its growth in the #EV #battery materials industry with SAP. "Agility and speed are part of our core values, and the #cloud allows us to deploy something very advanced very quickly, scaling up and down with speed while impacting the business and people as little as possible. We were able to deploy SAP solutions in about four months while keeping our costs under control." Read more from SAP and The Wall Street Journal. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gf6AReyK
