AGC New Member Challenge!  At Asian Giving Circle (AGC)’s 2025 Annual Meeting, a long-time AGC member offered a challenge for us: if we’re able to get 20 brand-new AGC members in the next month, this member will generously match their contributions with a $5,000 donation.  Help us meet this challenge and get our match! As a member, you’ll make a $250 donation that supports our annual grantmaking. Happy Lunar New Year! For the 3rd year in a row, Asian Giving Circle (AGC) Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP)- Chicago chapter and Association of Fundraising Professionals Chicago Chapter API Affinity Group hosted our annual Lunar New Year social, and this was the biggest one yet. Thanks to the The Chicago Community Trust for hosting this great group of folks for an evening of celebration, connecting/reconnecting, and of course good food and drinks. This year is the Year of the Snake, as we shed ourselves to new beginnings and positive transformation, this was the start we needed. Special shoutout to our planning committee Rupal Soni Sonia Mathew Andrea Chwee Christine Munteanu Shane Caterino for making this happen and bringing the positive energy we need. Thank you to Christine and Carrie Goodale for their continued advocacy support of AGC and for helping us coordinate all the logistics for these gatherings at the Trust! What a joy to bring in the Year of the Snake at our annual Lunar New Year Celebration! I am grateful to our hosts at The Chicago Community Trust and our amazing partners at the Asian Giving Circle (AGC), Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) and Association of Fundraising Professionals Chicago Chapter. It was the biggest turnout in the history of the event (!!), with over 100 AAPI leaders who support communities directly, build collaborations, move resources, and protect access and rights. I believe it really speaks to how much we are all seeking spaces to gather in relationship, joy, strategy, and solidarity right now. Community is everything in this work.

There is beautiful power in community. Those nine letters contain the joyful prospects of new friendships, memorable experiences and unexpected learnings. In a true community, there’s pride and shared reward when others rise and succeed. This could not be more true of the group that gathered last night to celebrate the start of Lunar New Year at The Chicago Community Trust. I’m grateful for the leaders across Asian Giving Circle (AGC), Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) and Association of Fundraising Professionals Chicago Chapter for their partnership and look forward to building more moments of community at our Leadership Fireside Chat series throughout the year. Asian Giving Circle (AGC), an affinity fund at The Chicago Community Trust, is seeking a consultant to assist with a strategic planning process to support AGC’s volunteer leadership in expanding AGC’s structure and capacity. The consultant would work closely with AGC leadership, members, Trust staff, and other key stakeholders to clarify AGC’s mission, goals, and priorities; outline an expanded leadership and governance structure; and develop a marketing and fundraising plan to raise awareness of AGC and increase AGC’s donor base within the Chicago region. #Chicago #Philanthropy The Chicago Community Trust
