What’s your asphalt rejuvenator of choice? 🗨️👇 Rejuvenators rapidly penetrate the RAP particles and restore the functional properties of the aged binder. This allows the bitumen in RAP to behave as an effective binder, allowing higher levels of RAP to be incorporated into the mix (while reducing the need for virgin bitumen). Biobased oils, like Sripath’s ReLIXER, are produced from cultivated crops that do not impact food sources, increasing their sustainability. Such rejuvenators have a negative value for Global Warming Potential (GWP). For example the GWP for ReLIXER is -1.45! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dFVJttJX

They milled to a depth of 8 inches, then mixed the RAP with custom-engineered AMICYCLE emulsion additive in a custom-built pugmill by Pugmill Systems that could handle 300+ tons per hour! As you prep your RAP piles for spring, what’s your plan to shred the RAS pile? Love ‘em or hate ‘em, recycled asphalt shingles have to be ready for spring just like any other RAP. When the GC replaced 120 tons of shingles at an Arkansas school with a metal roof, the roadbuilder who won the bid to pave the school parking lot later that year ended up being able to use 20 tons of those very shingles in the asphalt they placed at the school! “The savings were in the neighborhood of $40,000 on the dumping fees alone,” said the architect on the project, Bob Hiegel.
