Our new West Hills, CA Claims Trainee group teamed up with their Trainers to spend a morning packing food donations for families in the Philippines. Aspire has many team members in the Philippines thanks to our partners at Staff Boom, so this opportunity to give back hit very close to home. Plus, trainers and trainees got to get out of the office, get to know one another, and flex their teamwork muscles. Meet… Bilal Alam, ACAS, MAAA, CPCU, Aspire’s Chief Risk Officer! Mr. Alam began his insurance career in commercial pricing in 2004 as an actuarial analyst. Throughout his career, he has worked with commercial and personal insurance, reinsurance, and consulting firms. He spent his longest tenure at AIG as Assistant Vice President, with responsibilities in reserving and reinsurance management for their international book. During this time, he was also involved on the technology side and built their proprietary actuarial analytics platform. Before coming to Aspire, he served as Vice President and Head of Reinsurance and CIO for lender services at NatGen Insurance, an Allstate company. In this capacity, he was responsible for building out the data platform used by the actuaries and product and oversaw a reinsurance stack of $550M. Mr. Alam is credentialed with the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS), Academy of American Actuaries (MAAA), and is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).   Mr. Alam joined Aspire in 2023. He says, “Aspire is blazing a trail in the insurance industry. Meet Chief Financial Officer, Luane Teitelroit! Ms. Teitelroit began her insurance career at ClearSide General in 2009. In 2010, Ms. Teitelroit was promoted to Director of Finance, and in this role successfully managed all aspects of the financial, accounting, and administrative affairs. In 2012, when National General acquired the company, Ms. Teitelroit played an instrumental role in developing and implementing the acquisition integration plan, effectively minimizing disruptions and achieving organizational synergies. Post-acquisition, Ms. Teitelroit assumed the role of Controller and was responsible for the financial reporting for all Managing General Agency business representing over $100 million in direct written premium. In 2014, she was appointed as CFO at a subsidiary insurance company. In October 2015, Ms. Teitelroit left that role to assume the role of Controller of Aspire General Insurance Company. In December 2016, Ms. Teitelroit was promoted to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Aspire General Insurance Company. About her time at Aspire, she says, “Being involved in building Aspire from the ground up, and seeing where the organization is now, makes me feel so proud of myself and the entire Aspire team. It’s National Intern Day, and Aspire is spotlighting our Financial Analyst intern, Colin. Colin piloted Aspire’s internship program as our first (and only!) intern this summer. Regarding his experience so far, Colin shared the below: “This summer, I have had the incredible opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of auto insurance from a financial perspective. Throughout my internship, I have worked on multiple projects that have given me insights into risk assessment and financial analysis within the insurance industry. This hands-on experience has not only broadened my understanding of financial analysis, but has also deepened my appreciation for the complexities involved in the insurance sector. One of the highlights of my internship has been collaborating with the finance team to develop analytical models for assessing high-level profitability metrics. This project allowed me to apply my skills in financial analysis and modeling, while also learning from experienced professionals. My time at Aspire has been invaluable, and I am grateful for the mentorship and knowledge I have gained.
