About us

Association House of Chicago is a non-profit organization offering human-services programs that address both immediate and personal development needs. Based in Humboldt Park, Association House works with a multicultural, largely Latino and African-American population of all ages in Chicago’s under-served neighborhoods. Association House promotes health and wellness, and creates opportunities for educational and economic advancement across five service areas: Child Welfare, Behavioral Health, Community Health, Workforce Development, and the Association House High School. These bilingual, evidence-based programs, conducted by staff in a caring, welcoming environment, impact more than 4,000 Chicagoans each year. Find out more at www.associationhouse.org.

  • 🏡 What is Association House? Allow us to reintroduce ourselves... Association House is a home away from home, where a fresh start and a fighting chance at a bright future is always within reach. Behavioral health support, child welfare services, career training, public health outreach, even a fully accredited alternative high school are here for anyone in need: all under one roof. Learn more about how Association House lifts up Chicago every day at associationhouse.org.

  • When it comes to education, no two paths are alike. Meeting the unique needs of every student is a challenge that we continue to meet at Association House through our alternative high school. We brought stories of perseverance and success to the Youth Connection Charter School Town Hall this month, inviting students, parents, and teachers to celebrate our school and advocate for its future. "It feels good to be supported. It feels good to not have somebody give up on your child," one parent shared tearfully. "I am so grateful. I appreciate you guys for loving on my baby, and I pray that you are around forever." 💙

  • Our Family Literacy Program is welcoming even more little learners! 🐥 Our onsite child care program is now open to our career training students-- not just our high schoolers! That means our workforce development trainees can pursue their education with us knowing that their little ones are safe to learn and play just down the stairs. 💙 Welcome to the family! • The House is about to get haunted with help from Byline Bank! 🎃🧛 Next week, our Life Skills Education family will get in the spooky spirit with a costume party! Thanks to Byline, we'll have goodie backs, Halloween snacks, and prizes to give away. We can't wait to see what cool disguises our LSE friends dream up! Our Life Skills Education program gives adults with developmental disabilities a place to grow their independence and form connections! • Our Auxiliary Board came through for our programs and participants in a big way at this year's Summer Soiree! Our amazing network of young professionals raised $6,990 to directly benefit programs around the House, and brought in $4,750 in sponsorship support! We're so proud to be host to such inspiring changemakers. The Auxiliary Board's continued commitment is a vital part of our mission, and we're always looking for new members! If you're passionate about making Chicago equitable for all, become an advocate for our work by joining the Aux Board. Get in touch at https://lnkd.in/ezBaTtkm.

  • Association House is all about neighbors helping neighbors. That's why we invited volunteers from Northern Trust to join our high school students and mentors in painting wall art for our Dulcinea group living home! 🏡 At Dulcinea, our residents gain the skills and confidence needed to live independently while managing lifelong mental illness. This is no easy task, but the House is full of people ready to help! These paintings not only brighten up our residents' rooms, but stand as a reminder that support and kindness are never beyond their reach. 💌🎨

  • Our staff isn't afraid to get into the spirit of spooky season! 🎃 Last weekend, we held our annual friends & family trip to Six Flags Great America-- this year for Fright Fest! We braved the cold in our costumes, tried every ride we could, and some of us were even brave enough to try haunted houses after dark.  Happy Halloween from the House! Stay safe, have fun, and make sure to show us your costumes.🧡
