AICCU presented Jamienne (Jamie) Studley with the 2024 Lasting Legacy Award last week at our Annual Meeting for her impact on the higher ed policy landscape and devotion in service to the higher ed community. As president of the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), she championed innovation and better data, including benchmarking metrics for all WSCUC-accredited institutions. Her north star has always been to promote success for all students.

AICCU presented Sen. Josh Newman with the 2024 Excellence in Legislative Leadership Award last week at our Annual Meeting for his contributions to higher education policy. As the chair of the Senate Education Committee, Sen. Newman invested significant time and effort to understanding the effects of legislation on California's colleges and universities. As a result, policies have been shaped to enhance student access and success.

Last week, we saw campus leaders from our member institutions, along with representatives from key higher education organizations and state agencies, come together to discuss the future of higher education, innovation, and policy at our AICCU 2024 Annual Meeting. The 2-day event was a great opportunity to network and gain more insight on current issues impacting independent higher education.
