This role is pivotal in connecting county leaders with grant-making organizations, supporting the preparation of grant application materials, and building strong relationships with grant technical assistance programs statewide. The position will focus on grant opportunities related to the goals and strategies of the McKnight Foundation’s Midwest Climate & Energy program. The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for presenting and writing communications on grant opportunities and coordinating statewide grant education initiatives. The intern will collaborate on projects with county CEOs from across the state of Minnesota including a semester-long research project on an emerging local government issue that will have practical application for county leaders. Past projects have been used by county boards to adopt and implement operating procedures, update county policies, and inform AMC’s lobbying team on legislative issues important to county leaders. The Minnesota Association of County Social Service Administrators (MACSSA), an affiliate of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC), is seeking a current or prospective graduate level intern to support MACSSA during the summer of 2024. The intern will work on a project on an emerging human services issue as well as support MACCSA’s ongoing work with members across the state.
