Fostering Innovation in Space Science at the Central-American Space Congress with Space for all Nations 🌌 We were thrilled to co-host the Space Hackathon in Guatemala in collaboration with Asociación Guatemalteca de Ingeniería y Ciencias Espaciales | AGICE, Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, and Congreso Espacial Centroamericano. This event highlighted the talent and ingenuity of young professionals and students from STEM fields, who pitched cutting-edge space-related projects. We're excited to recognize the winners: 🏆 1st Place: Valeria Fernanda Sierra Cano & Federico Tzunux Tzoc Azucalímetro – A geopolymer made from sugar residue ash, serving as an analog for lunar base regolith. 🥈 2nd Place: José Rodolfo Balcárcell de Paz & Natalia Renée Lemus Cruz Microgravity & Quinoa Cultivation – Investigating how microgravity can support quinoa farming to aid future Mars missions. 🥉 3rd Place: Meteorological Guide – Enhancing satellite weather image reception for easy access in agricultural areas. Thank you to AGICE, UVG, and CEC for hosting us in Guatemala, and to all the participants for their incredible contributions toward the future of space exploration. We are proud to support these innovators and offer scholarships to further their education in the space industry! 🌍💼 #IIAS #SpaceForAllNations
