Philanthropy is Fueling a University of Exceptional Impact
About us
The ASU Foundation is a private nonprofit organization that identifies, encourages and engages private supporters to advance the success of Arizona State University as a New American University. The foundation works with donors to determine their motivations and aspirations and matches those passions with investment opportunities at ASU. The foundation was awarded the four-star rating for 10 consecutive years by Charity Navigator, one of the nation’s leading independent nonprofit evaluator. We especially welcome candidates who are eager to apply best practices in fundraising towards cultivating a culture of philanthropy throughout the ASU community.

Take a look behind the curtain at Arizona’s largest LGBTQ+ archive, here at ASU. The Bj Bud Memorial Archive is part of the Community-Driven Archives Initiative at Arizona State University Library. “Queer visibility is so important. It takes community support and courage to be yourself,” said Nancy Godoy, director of the initiative. Over 9,000 images and documents have been digitized and are available for the public and researchers alike. The newsletters and periodicals that were the lifeblood of the community decades ago now offer a glimpse into the history of LGBTQ+ people’s daily lives and struggles. Important projects continue to evolve from the archives. Pamela Stewart, ASU emeritus teaching professor, is launching a new Queer and Elders Ancestors Project that interviews a cohort of older lesbian women. Godoy and “Hip Historian” Marshall Shore co-founded the Arizona LGBTQ+ History Project. Above all else, the LGBTQ+ Studies Collection is a living archive. It continues to grow through donations and through the work of community archivists.
