I learned so much from my fellow panelists at the Working Well panel at HLTH! Nikole Benders-Hadi, M.D. highlighted how much work remains in destigmatizing mental health in the workplace. Tiffany Chan and I and our Atalan team strongly believe that this effort begins with the workplace itself—employers must take the lead by adopting a preventive care approach and leveraging AI technologies. Building on that, Lisa Morozoff provided the critical insight that prediction is important for quickly identifying those who need support. The predictive technology of Atalan has the potential to help employers be more proactive in mental health support as part of the destigmatization process. I'm so excited to share that I will be speaking at HLTH 2024! Join me on Monday, October 21st, for the panel presentation "The Working Well" at 10:40 am PT. I'll be co-presenting with Dr. Ashwin Vasan, NYC Health Commissioner of the NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & MENTAL, Lisa Morozoff from Uber, Dr. Nikole Benders-Hadi, M.D. from Talkspace; and the panel will be moderated by Kathleen M. Pike from One Mind at Work. We will be discussing one of the most pressing issues in today's workforce: employee wellbeing. Representing Atalan, I will be diving into how it's possible for health systems to be more proactive in their clinician wellbeing and retention efforts. 🎶 “We have an initiative as patient experience experts to work with the wellbeing office.” 🎶 These words from at Emory Healthcare are truly music to my ears! This is exactly the kind of collaboration that supports our latest research, which focuses on a critical but often overlooked area — using objective data to investigate the connection between clinician experience and patient experience. 📊 In our recent presentation at the Annual Patient Experience Symposium, we shared our initial finding that identified concrete and modifiable mechanisms that improve both provider experience and patient experience, e.g. back-to-back appointments for primary care providers. The response from the healthcare leaders was incredible and what I’m most excited about was the diversity of ideas that were coming up, specifically on the actions that can be taken from having this kind of evidence. 🌎 I think there’s a huge opportunity here to break down siloes and foster collaboration across departments. By identifying leading indicators that impact both patient and clinician experiences, we can drive meaningful improvements on both experiences!
