🚀 What an awesome past week for Atland and Twin Cities Startup Week (TCSW)! We kicked things off with MN Cup, where Atland Alum Aditya Prabhu and Analyst Mohamed Hammadelniel won the student division for their amazing work on Alure LLC, a netting technology to eliminate Japanese Beetles. Another shoutout to Atland Alum Ava Najafi, CFO of Rora, a company reimagining the intimacy space for those a part of the LGBTQ+ community and a runner-up in the Student Division! Congrats to you all - we are excited to watch you do great things! We also hosted our own event, "Women Trailblazers in Venture Capital," featuring three powerhouse speakers who are making waves in the VC world. Their insights, experiences & advice were invaluable, and it was a great reminder of the importance of diverse voices in the industry. Thank you to our speakers, Sara Russick, Ellie Pigott, and Lara Larson, for sharing your journeys and inspiring us all! To top it all off, we hosted a recruitment event showcasing Atland to potential fund members. The session had a fantastic turnout, and we are looking forward to onboarding a passionate & talented group of new analysts. It was wonderful to see so many passionate individuals interested in joining our team and learning about our vision. Grateful for these opportunities to connect, learn, and grow with this incredible community. Looking forward to the next one 🔜

Lane Versteeg, our VP of Recruitment, was able to attend an event held by StrictlyVC in Washington DC! This event was held mid June and featured some pretty incredible speakers. These included Steve Case, Lina Khan, Luther Lowe, and Helen Toner. The event focused around insider VC content and impactful conversation. The key theme presented was how legislation is important for growth of early stage companies. Another highlight for us was from Steve Case, when he stated “there is still arbitrage” opportunities in smaller states such as Minnesota, and the Midwest. While we may fly under the radar to those in Silicon Valley, there is amazing potential for VC and entrepreneurship here in the Midwest. We are truly grateful for all of the insights, and will use them moving forward. Thanks StrictlyVC!
