One of the premier meeting destinations in the world, our convention center package sets us apart. Georgia World Congress Center is a LEED Gold-certified convention center that continues to evolve the city’s hospitality industry with each transformation to the downtown convention campus. Throughout the city lies a collection of charismatic, in-town neighborhoods: Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead. These walkable, vibrant meeting districts are fit for any style, each celebrated for a unique culture of revived hot spots, historic landmarks, retail districts, fresh markets and authentic restaurants that satisfy every craving. The city’s hotels range from boutique to full-service and everything in between. It’s an urban playground full of culture, state-of-the-art professional sports venues and world-renowned attractions, all just a short distance from meeting and event venues. • The 25th annual Atlanta Hospitality Hall of Fame ceremony is happening Nov. 11 where four new members will be inducted. Inductees have spent their career establishing Atlanta as a prominent destination for meetings and tourism. Dr. Brian L. Davis was president and CEO of Georgia Aquarium. He was one of the first employees at the aquarium back in 2003 and went on to serve as vice president of education and then executive vice president of operations. During his tenure at Georgia Aquarium, Davis championed the planning and opening of one of the largest shark galleries in the world. Under Brian’s leadership, Georgia Aquarium became the first aquarium to be designated a Certified Autism Center, equipped with facilities and options for those with sensory sensitivities, and to be designated as a Center for Species Survival serving as a regional hub for species conservation. One of the last recognitions awarded to Georgia Aquarium under Brian’s leadership was being named a Top Workplace by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and being awarded the DEI Award. As we remember him and continue his dedication to education access, Georgia Aquarium is establishing The Dr. Brian L. Davis Marine Biology, Conservation, and Education Scholarship Fund. Hospitality Hall of Fame is presented by The Coca-Cola Company and Delta Air Lines.
