Team Kelp has been reading the news about the protests Kellogg's headquarters, and we're excited to see consumers becoming more aware of the pervasiveness of dyes in our food system, and using their voices to demand change! We've always felt committed to producing traceable seaweed products that are free from the dyes, like Yellow 5 and Blue 1, that are so commonly found in seaweed salads on the market. We love kelp for it's unique and rich nutrient profile – which is why our seaweed salads are made with real ingredients that our customers can feel good about. #food #foodsystem #processedfoods #health #superfoods

A woman-run, mission-driven seaweed farming company dedicated to making a powerful and positive impact.
About us
Good food should do good. Atlantic Sea Farms is a woman-run, mission-driven seaweed farming company. We are dedicated to making a powerful and positive impact on the health of our customers, our coastal communities, and our planet by creating delicious products made from regeneratively farmed sea greens. Our founders created the first commercially viable seaweed farm in the United States in 2009, with the goal of diversifying how our coastal waters are used and providing a domestic, fresh, healthy alternative to imported seaweed products. Now, more than ever, we need food sources that can positively impact the economic and environmental health of our coastal communities. Here in Maine, climate change is already making landfall, and our future depends on finding new ways for lobster fishermen to work on the water while improving the health of our oceans. Read more about our social mission to work with coastal fishermen, and meet some of our partner farmers by visiting our website.

We're always getting fired up about kelp's unique nutrient profile –but perhaps the most important benefit of our traceable seaweed is that it's an incredible source of iodine, a trace mineral that supports thyroid function and metabolic health. We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Bluebonnet Nutrition on their new Atlantic Sea Kelp Iodine capsules. Frankly, it's awesome to be an ingredient partner to a company that is so committed to using only the highest quality ingredients in their formulas, underscoring our shared dedication to consumer health. By supplying the Bluebonnet team with traceable sea greens, regeneratively grown in the clean waters of Maine, we're working together to support our customers and our oceans at the same time. Learn more about kelp as an ingredient - reach out to Alissa Brockman today!

We are honored to be a part of the Non-GMO Project's Food Integrity Collective, working together to build a better food system that supports people and planet 🌎
Food Integrity Collective cohort brand Atlantic Sea Farms does incredible work on the East Coast as a seaweed aquaculture business. Their infrastructure and path to market help keep kelp farmers in business – and that's a big deal. Kelp is a nutrient-dense superfood that is also ecologically beneficial and can help fight climate change. "ASF’s dedication to infrastructure also pays off for the consumer. When a shopper buys one of the company’s burgers, they can look up where the kelp grew, who harvested it, and when. This is a markedly different situation than with seafood writ large, where one-third of grocery store labels have been found to be wrong."
