At Atria Golden Creek, three residents discovered a unique connection through the Resident Match Program — not only do they now all call California home, but they also all grew up in Dorchester, MA. Joel, Marilyn and Yvonne, now active members of their community, enjoy reminiscing about their shared hometown, trading memories such as where they went to school and where they got their first jobs. Whether sharing a meal or playing games of Scrabble and Bingo, their newfound friendship shows how small the world can be.

Our Tailgate Party Social Series event brought the ultimate game day vibes to our communities! Residents gathered to enjoy tailgate favorites, including classics like hotdogs, nachos and chicken wings. The energy was high, the snacks were top-notch and the company was unbeatable. Tomorrow is the last day of summer, but instead of crying because it's over, we're smiling because it happened. 😄 Atria Forest Hills played croquet. Atria at Hometown had a flamingo party by the pool. Atria Park of Ann Arbor and Atria Kinghaven set sail together on a riverboat cruise. Atria Draper Place listened to live music in the park. Atria Tanglewood and Atria Park of Lynbrook met up for a picnic and cornhole.

The Life Guidance crew at Atria Sunnyvale has been living it up this summer! From sightseeing to delicious ice cream, beautiful sunny days have turned into wonderful moments for residents, families and employees. "It's nice staying here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is wonderful. The interaction is friendly. And there's always something to do, always new things to do. Some of these things I have never done before."

Atria’s Well-Being Coach, Billie Jean King met with residents at Atria Darien as well as with viewers across North America via live stream. She shared insights on how community is key to healthy aging, discussed her lifelong fight for equality and answered questions from Atria residents. “She means so much to all of us women,” said Louise, a resident at Atria Darien. Many of our residents spoke about how Billie Jean King inspired them in their youth, with some even donning brightly colored glasses in tribute to her iconic style.

We had a “reel” good time at our Under the Boardwalk Social Series! 🎡🎣 We enjoyed classic games and indulged in crispy boardwalk fries and saltwater taffy, all while mingling with old and new friends. Pickleball is all the rage at Atria Grass Valley. And when it's too hot to play outside, this team has no problem taking the game indoors. "It was much different playing inside and not on an outdoor court, but it was fun to adapt," says Bob, resident and pickleball aficionado. As Treasurer for the Grass Valley Pickleball Association, Bob has led the charge in bringing the sport to the community. The games get competitive, but Bob laughs, "It's not worth playing sports if you're not competitive!"
