Exciting News: My Chapter on Neuroqueer Experiences in India is Published! I’m thrilled to announce the publication of my chapter, "Unveiling Marginalisation: Neuroqueer Experiences at the Intersection of Neurodivergence and Gender/Sexual Diversity in India," as part of the book, "Marginalised Groups in India" (https://lnkd.in/gDeA4icY) edited by Kunal Debnath, PhD and Souvik Chatterjee (Routledge, 2024). This work sheds light on the underexplored experiences of neuroqueer individuals in India, highlighting their resilience against structural exclusion in healthcare, education, and employment. By using podcast ethnography, this chapter explores how they resist dominant narratives of heteronormativity and ableism. Engaging in this research was not only an academic journey but also a deeply personal and transformative process. It allowed me to discover and understand parts of myself as a neuroqueer individual, while simultaneously exploring the experiences of others at the intersection of neurodivergence and queerness. This research wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of Soumya, who allowed me to access her podcast, Atypical Dikkatein: A Conversation Podcast, as a vital resource. Her input was invaluable in reviewing my analysis, ensuring that I approached the subject with care and respect for the knowledge shared. The abstract is available at https://lnkd.in/garaQBMk.
