As the finale celebrating #AugmentativeAlternativeCommunication (AAC) Awareness Month, AUCD had the opportunity to interview Tracy Rackensperger, PhD! Dr. Rackensperger is a faculty member at the University of Georgia’s #UCEDD, the Institute on Human Development and Disability, where she teaches undergraduate students and has conducted several research studies, including publishing scholarly works regarding people who use AAC. A user of AAC for over 35 years, Dr. Rackensperger shared the impactful opportunities for collaboration and advancement she experienced as a member of the AUCD Network, as well as what #EmergingLeaders should know about AAC users as they develop their careers.
