Uncovered at Advertising Week: the loyalty proposition redefined. A really interesting session today at #AWNewYork24 was "Maximizing Customer Engagement and Loyalty: Harnessing Reward Programs & Omnichannel Addressability." The panelists from T-Mobile Advertising Solutions, United Airlines and Fetch (and moderated by AXIOS) outlined the real future power of loyalty. After covering the basics of current #loyaltystrategies and objectives of both T-Mobile Magenta Status and United Airlines MileagePlus, the discussion broadened as each brand explained how they were improving their best customers' lives. For United, it is all about how flying better leads to living better. T-Mobile’s strategy is a bit different, focusing on becoming a critical guide for their customers by offering unique, power-partner experiences or offers exclusive to T-mobile members. But that’s not the real unlock for us as at Augeo as we definitely understand rewards and incentives across all channels and formats. The big reveal came when the brand leaders shifted the discussion toward a future outlook where #loyaltymembership is just the starting point for monetizing this audience by expanding and integrating #personalization. By utilizing media channels, content and experiences initially delivered within their owned platforms—think seat-back screens on United planes or in-store screens at many T-mobile retail locations—#membership becomes increasingly more valuable, offering truly relevant content curation and distribution to the member, at the members control. This moves the game beyond mere point cumulation and redemption—it becomes the new definition of the value exchange in loyalty.
